As an entrepreneur or business owner, you’re blessed with lots of options for project management software.
Maybe too many. The decision often comes down to price—but getting accurate information can be a royal pain.
It’s like going to a used car dealership. You ask, “So how much is it?” and the slightly shady salesman replies, “But wait! There’s more…”
We’ve saved you the trouble by tracking down complete pricing information for the most popular project management tools.
In this post, we’re covering ClickUp.
But how much is it going to cost?
Our overview covers every one of ClickUp’s subscription levels—the features, the limitations, and exactly what you’ll pay. For comparison, we’ll also cover monday.com’s features and pricing, so you can make an informed decision about what best suits your needs and wallet.
Is ClickUp really free?
Yep. The Free Forever plan is just that. But it sharply limits what you can do with ClickUp.
With the Free Forever plan, you get unlimited tasks and unlimited users. But you only get 5 workspaces, and can only store 100MB worth of docs.
You also lose access to many of the integrations (including Google Drive and Dropbox) and you can’t edit file permissions.
If you need more storage, or can’t do without a feature that’s missing, read on to see what you’ll get on a paid plan.
What type of pricing plans does ClickUp offer?
According to research by Capterra, companies spend a median of $1,200 implementing project management software like ClickUp.Despite the massive potential benefits, a cloud-based task manager isn’t cheap. The question is whether you can get enough out of ClickUp to justify the spend.
ClickUp has 4 paid plans to choose from: Free Forever, Unlimited, Business, and Enterprise.
1) Unlimited plan
Unlimited, ClickUp’s cheapest paid plan, costs $9 per member per month if you pay monthly, and $5 per member per month if you pay by the year ($60 total).
What do you get with ClickUp’s Unlimited plan?
Unlimited removes a lot of the walls from the Free Forever plan. There’s no limit on the number of workspaces, and the file storage cap is no more. You also get a lot more of the popular integrations.
- No Gantt chart limits
- Guest permissions
- 1,000 automations per month
- 7-day activity and box views
- Cloud storage
2) Business plan
ClickUp’s Business plan costs $19 per member per month, or $9 per member per month if you pay for the whole year upfront ($108 total).
What do you get with ClickUp’s Business plan?
The Business plan is designed to accommodate larger organizations, with multiple interlocking teams.
Mind maps and dashboard widgets were limited in the Unlimited plan (ironically), but now you can use them unrestricted. You’ve also got free access to every view, including Timeline and Workload, which you could previously only use 100 times.
Let’s take a look at what you get with Business in addition to the features from Unlimited:
- The ability to set required custom fields
- Form branding
- 10,000 automations with more actions
- All views
- Two-factor authentication
3) Enterprise plan
ClickUp’s Enterprise plan has no set cost. Interested businesses must contact the ClickUp sales team directly to work out a price.
What do you get with ClickUp’s Enterprise plan?
Enterprise is focused on the needs of a bigger business—especially its security needs.
The Business plan doesn’t offer much beyond two-factor authentication, but Enterprise adds custom single sign-ons, legal reviews, and many more options to control who gets to see what.
You also get better customer support. Along with priority service, ClickUp provides Enterprise subscribers with a dedicated customer success manager and special onboarding training.
Here’s what you get on top of the Business features:
- 100,000 automations
- Priority customer support
- Onboarding training
- HIPAA compliance review
- Contract review
- Custom security permissions
