Finding the right project management tool can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack.

So, before you get all excited about the perfect app solution, you know whether it’s going to suit your budget.

According to Insightly, it’s the only CRM software (customer relationship management software) that has project management and delivery built right in. Which is a lot like what we, monday.com, offer too!

Is Insightly free to use? In short, yes.

Insightly is a CRM platform designed primarily for customer management, but it also offers some project management functionality.

The platform is free for 1-2 users and it allows you to tackle basic project tasks such as:

  • Converting won leads into projects
  • Tracking and managing milestones
  • Project, workflow, and task management

There are several Insightly integration app options including Xero, Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, G Suite, Quickbooks, and Mailchimp so you can sync project communications and budgets.

The platform offers a no-frills plan for two business partners to manage customer contact information, sales data, and projects in one location. To create a free account, all you have to do is insert your first name, last name, email, and create a password on the CRM tool.

But as you might expect, there are limitations with using the free version of the CRM system. Unfortunately, this means you might not have access to all the features you need.

Let’s take a look at the limitations:

  • Only two users are allowed per account
  • No customizable sales process options, negatively impacting the sales funnel
  • No lead management and mass email feature
  • Limited configurable profiles and page layouts
  • No intelligence dashboards

What pricing plans does Insightly offer? 3 to choose from.

As long as you don’t need the Enterprise plan, or have fewer than 5 users, you can make that budget work with Insightly CRM software.

The Insightly Plus plan costs $29/user/month (billed annually).

Here’s a breakdown of some of what’s included in this plan:

  • Mass emailing feature for more sales opportunities (P.S. with monday.com’s gmail integration, you can do this too!)
  • Email template options for contact management
  • Lead visualization with Kanban boards

These are just some of the features that you’ll get with the Insightly Plus plan.

But, it does have limitations. For instance, you can only create two user roles or profiles, and there’s no phone support or customizable dashboards offered with this plan.

What do you get with Insightly’s Professional plan? Email scheduling and workflow automation

The Insightly Plus plan costs $49/user/month (billed annually).

In addition to what you can find in the Plus plan, here’s what the Professional plan includes:

  • You can schedule outbound emails for marketing or sales pipeline management purposes
  • 100 customizable real-time insight cards for creating charts and graphs
  • You can build and share customizable BI (business intelligence) dashboards that finds actionable insight solutions
  • Complete workflow automation

But, it is still missing some valuable features, such as custom validation rules for workflows and dynamic page layout rules, so different users only see the fields they need.

What do you get with Insightly’s Enterprise plan? Custom apps

The Insightly Plus plan costs $99/user/month (billed annually).

If you have enterprise needs for your business, then consider Insightly’s Enterprise plan. In addition to the features in the previous two plans, here’s what’s included.

  • Unlimited number of customizable real-time insight cards
  • Allows you to deploy custom apps on any platform
  • Dynamic page layout rules for modifying fields based on the user

Features like Insightly Voice and customized support come at an additional cost; it’s not included in the $99/user/month.

So, monday.com or Insightly?

Of course, we think you should go with monday.com but…
