"Whether through its intuitive interface, its ease of adoption, or its ability to adapt precisely to our needs, monday.com truly stood out among all the platforms we evaluated"

Sonia Vasseur
Head of Strategic Management and Operational Excellence - Nespresso France

Discovering Nespresso

Founded in 1986, Nespresso completely transformed the at-home coffee experience. Known as the  inventor of capsule coffee, this Nestlé Group company was built upon engineer Éric Favre’s ingenious innovation: high quality coffee with the single press of a button.

Contrary to popular belief, the Nespresso system is also eco-friendly. Thanks to its compact size and ability to optimize each dose of coffee, it has a lower carbon footprint per cup compared to a bean-to-cup machine. The brand also stands out with its  unique distribution model that relies on both a direct relationship with more than 160,000 coffee farmers and highly personalized connection to its customers. Their  network of dedicated boutiques and dedicated customer service, Nespresso ensures that quality and care remain at the heart of their coffee experience.

Today, Nespresso employs more than 14,000 people worldwide, operates in 96 countries, and relies on retailers at over 800 boutiques. France, home to nearly 1,300 employees, welcomed  the very first Nespresso boutique, solidifying its place as a key market for the brand now, and in the future.

The challenge

Sonia Vasseur heads the Strategic Management and Operational Excellence division at Nespresso France. Her core mission is to support the company's performance by improving working methods and streamlining processes to enhance both the customer and employee. But, Sonia was dealing with a lack of data centralization, leading to a more scattered and less responsive work organization:

"Before monday.com, we were juggling spreadsheets with version conflicts and lost data, presentations, and manual follow-ups. We ended up not having information in real time."

As the  Continuous Improvement and Cross-Functional Process Manager, Angelique Souq works closely with departments across the organization to assess, optimize, and strengthen process performance, with a consistent focus on operational efficiency.

However, the lack of an organizational system for existing information was a barrier to her daily efficiency. Part of her time was devoted to searching for and consolidating data. As she points out: "Everything was scattered across numerous files, folders, and spreadsheets." Sonia explains that over time, this lack of centralization, which slowed decision-making, ended up weighing on the teams' work: "We reached a point where we were tired of spending more time collecting and chasing data than analyzing it. We needed to equip ourselves."

The solution

Why monday.com?

Following an international review and an in-depth comparison of more than a dozen platforms, monday.com naturally emerged as the best-suited solution for the company's needs.

"Whether through its intuitive interface, its ease of adoption, or its ability to adapt precisely to our needs, monday.com truly stood out among all the platforms we evaluated," says Sonia.

Centralized data: saving time and gaining visibility

"Our immediate impression was the gain in visibility. We immediately gained in speed, structure, and quality of exchanges," recalls Sonia.

The first and most important use case within the division was integrating all of the company's activities into monday.com to facilitate tracking across the management committee and teams. By creating this "single source of truth," the platform enabled teams to manage all projects with a comprehensive overview and real-time data.

For Sonia, the benefits are clear: "monday has improved our strategic management and the way we work. We've gained in efficiency and collaboration."

Prioritizing projects and tracking capacity

Built-in templates and automations also made it easier to launch and track the company's marketing campaigns. "The platform helps us manage our marketing campaigns, prioritize our projects, track the operational activities of e-commerce teams, and monitor capacity," explains Sonia. Angélique adds that templates greatly simplified the work of project managers: "With every offer launch, they would manually rewrite or reuse spreadsheets to detail all the actions needed for the launch. They started from scratch every time and wasted a lot of time."

Sonia explains that the activity portfolio prioritization matrix is based on three key principles: expected impact, ROI, and implementation effort. monday.com's features support data-driven decision-making based on factual and quantifiable elements. Furthermore, they enable capacity tracking and optimal workload distribution within and across teams.

"One of our favorite features is the dashboards that allow us to track in real time what's happening across the portfolio," explains Sonia.

The impact

Angélique highlights the concrete benefits monday has brought to her daily work, particularly in terms of time savings: "I spend 50% less time on information gathering so I can focus on higher-value activities."

For Sonia, monday's impact at Nespresso is felt every day: "We have much easier access to information. It's updated in real time and it really simplifies our lives every day." She especially values the visibility provided at multiple levels, enabled by the filters and customization options that provide transparency for every department, every strategic priority, and every project. "What struck us most when we decided to adopt monday.com was the simplicity of the platform. It's visual, customizable, easy to embrace, and easy to use. It enabled all teams to make it their own quickly, in very little time."

After a flawless monday.com implementation within the Strategic Management and Operational Excellence division, Sonia plans to expand use cases internally. She’s also looking to drive platform adoption at a more global level, to support strategic efforts led by Nespresso international markets and other Nestlé entities.
