monday.com Human Rights Statement
Our Approach
At monday.com, we build technology that helps people and organizations plan, collaborate, and get work done. Our mission is to empower teams to accomplish more, together. As a global software company transforming how businesses run, we recognize that our technology can affect people’s rights – in the workplace, across supply chains, in the way data is handled, and in the way products are designed, deployed, and used. Respect for human rights is therefore part of how we do business.
Transparency and trust are fundamental to how we build our products and how we operate. We believe that businesses have a fundamental responsibility to respect human rights, meaning we must avoid infringing on the rights of others and address adverse impacts with which we are involved.
We are focused on respecting internationally recognized human rights, as reflected in the International Bill of Human Rights (including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights) and the International Labor Organization Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. Our approach to operationalizing this statement is guided by the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct. We developed this statement using guidance from independent business and human rights experts, including the work of the UN B-Tech Project and sector-level human rights assessments of the Software-as-a-Service industry, and it was approved by monday.com’s Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CRS) Committee.
Salient Issues
Based on this work, we have identified the following as the human rights issues currently most salient to our business as a global Software-as-a-Service provider:
- Privacy and data protection of users and other individuals whose data we process.
- Algorithmic bias, AI governance, and non-discrimination, promoting freedom from discrimination and unfairness in connection with our AI-enabled features, autonomous agents, and automated outputs.
- Accessibility and digital inclusion, including enabling individuals with disabilities to participate in the modern workforce without digital exclusion.
- Customer end use and platform misuse, helping prevent our software from being used in ways that violate privacy, facilitate unlawful or harmful conduct, or otherwise create adverse human rights impacts.
- Freedom of expression, particularly in how we evaluate government or law-enforcement requests and decisions to restrict customer content or account activity under our terms and policies.
- Labor rights across our workforce, contingent workforce, and supply chain, including freedom from forced labor, child labor, and human trafficking.
We focus our due diligence and the sections that follow on these salient issues.
Scope
This statement applies universally across monday.com operations, our workforce, and our global value chain. It governs how we engage with internal and external stakeholders – including our employees, business partners, suppliers, and customers – and serves as the foundation for our product development, business decisions, and broader social impact initiatives.
Where national law and internationally recognized human rights standards differ, we will comply with applicable law while seeking ways to respect internationally recognized human rights to the greatest extent possible.
How we put this into practice
Our people
We are focused on providing a workplace that is safe, respectful, and inclusive. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, retaliation, forced labor, child labor, or human trafficking. We support equal opportunity, fair working conditions, and respect for freedom of association and collective bargaining, consistent with applicable law.
Through our Global Inclusion Strategy, we focus on measuring fairness, engaging our workforce, and equipping employees with leadership tools and clear communication of our expectations and policies. Our grassroots, employee-led Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), which are open to all employees, provide essential spaces for advocacy and collaboration, shaping fair workplace experiences for colleagues from a wide variety of backgrounds. Our expectations for a safe and equitable workplace are codified in our Code of Ethics and Anti-Harassment and Anti-Discrimination Policy.
We expect those who work with or on behalf of monday.com to uphold the same standards.
Products, services, and responsible innovation
Trust is at the heart of how we design, build, and deliver our products, safeguarding our users’ data and privacy at every step. We believe privacy is more than just a policy; it is embedded into our products’ DNA through the principles of Privacy by Design and Privacy by Default. We empower users to manage their data through access controls and permissions.
As we expand our AI capabilities, we are focused on ethical governance. Our AI features are built with a focus on transparency, data privacy, and user control. We work with managed, enterprise-grade model providers that contractually apply zero-retention policies and do not use customer data to train their models.
Our customers and acceptable use
We expect customers and users to use our services responsibly and in line with our terms and policies. We do not permit use of our platform in ways that violate others’ privacy or facilitate hate, harassment, child exploitation, fraud, deception, or other unlawful or harmful conduct.
Our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy and AI Terms and Conditions are part of how we set clear expectations for use of our platform and AI capabilities. Where we become aware of activity that violates our Acceptable Use Policy, Terms of Service, or applicable law, we may investigate and take appropriate action, including removing content, restricting features, suspending access, or terminating services in line with our terms and applicable law. We do not proactively monitor customer content; our enforcement is reactive and triggered by reports, legal processes, or other information that is brought to our attention. In higher-risk or sensitive contexts, we may apply additional review, escalation, or safeguards.
When we receive requests from governments or law enforcement to disclose customer data or restrict content, we verify the validity and legality of the demand, explicitly checking whether the requesting agency has the legal power and authority to make it. We assess each request against applicable law, seeking to narrow overbroad requests, push back on demands that lack a clear legal basis, and notify affected customers wherever we are legally permitted to do so.
Our supply chain and partners
We expect suppliers, vendors, business partners, and other third parties to uphold applicable legal requirements and relevant human rights-related standards communicated through our policies, codes, due diligence processes, partner compliance frameworks and contractual terms.
We apply risk-based due diligence to assess risks related to modern slavery, human trafficking, and unfair labor practices across our supply chain. If we become aware of adverse human rights impacts that are directly linked to our operations, products, or services through a business relationship, we will review the matter and consider appropriate steps to help prevent or mitigate the impact and, where appropriate, reconsider or end the relationship.
Our community and social impact initiatives
We believe that when people and organizations are empowered to work smarter, it creates a ripple effect of real impact. Through monday.com for Nonprofits, we provide eligible organizations with access to our core products at no cost or at significant discounts, enabling them to direct their budgets toward mission-critical work.
Through the monday.com Foundation, we dedicate a portion of our equity and employee time to providing technology, education and essential skills, empowering emergency response teams and youth from underserved communities in order to bridge the digital divide.
We mandate that our philanthropic and community deployments – particularly those involving vulnerable populations – adhere to strict safeguarding, privacy, and “Do No Harm” principles to protect the rights and dignity of end-beneficiaries.
Governance, due diligence, and stakeholder engagement
Oversight of human rights matters sits with executive management and CRS Committee oversight structures. Day-to-day implementation is supported by cross-functional teams across Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Security, Procurement, Partnerships, Product, and People functions.
We evaluate potential human rights risks across our products and operations through risk-based due diligence, embedding these evaluations into our routine internal risk reviews and regular customer reporting channels.
We integrate relevant findings into business processes, including decisions relating to product development, sourcing, partner engagement, and higher-risk geographies or use cases. Where prioritization is needed, we focus first on the highest risks. We aim to review and strengthen our approach over time.
As our human rights program matures, we aim to engage over time with relevant stakeholders – including our employees, partners, and industry experts – to better understand emerging risks and refine our compliance practices. This statement is supported by monday.com’s broader governance, privacy, security, and risk management frameworks and will be reviewed periodically.
Speaking up and remedy
We encourage employees, contractors, suppliers, partners, customers, and others who believe they have been adversely affected by our products, services, or operations to raise concerns about conduct that may be inconsistent with this statement or with monday.com’s related policies. Concerns may be raised through available reporting channels, including our reporting hotline, which is accessible to both external parties and monday.com personnel through monday.com’s Reporting Hotline webpage. We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
If we become aware of a potential adverse human rights impact connected to monday.com’s operations, products, or services, we will assess the circumstances and consider appropriate steps to address the matter. Where monday.com has caused or contributed to such an impact, those steps may include providing for or cooperating in appropriate remediation, consistent with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We may also use relevant learnings, where appropriate and consistent with applicable confidentiality considerations, from complaints, incidents, and stakeholder feedback to improve our systems and controls.
Review
We will review this Statement on a periodic basis, and update it as needed to reflect changes in our business, products and services, risk profile, and evolving standards and expectations.
