About the Team

 

The Payments department within monday.com's R&D organization is central to our company’s ongoing success. Our team develops mission-critical financial and operational processes while managing billions of dollars each year. We focus on maximizing the customer experience across all payment-related flows, both internal and external, including usage metering, resource budgeting, and plan enforcement. As a strategic business enabler, we’re driving multiple growth engines across all monday.com products and offerings—today and for the future.

 

The Opportunity

 

We are seeking an Engineering Team Lead to help build and scale crucial business infrastructure supporting new strategies and an expanding portfolio of products and marketplace solutions. You will lead a team of highly talented and independent developers in a dynamic environment where code is deployed multiple times a day. This role is based at our headquarters in Tel Aviv, Israel.

 

You will be responsible for setting the technical direction, cultivating team culture and dynamics, and ensuring the successful delivery of Payments-related projects. This includes:

  • Usage metering

  • Consumption budgeting and enforcement

  • Contracting

  • Integrations with payment service providers and gateways

  • Automated fraud analysis

  • Optimization engines
    Your technical expertise and strong leadership will be vital to the success of our department.

 

Your Role

 
  • Lead and scale a team of engineers building monday.com’s strategic business infrastructure

  • Combine hands-on technical leadership with people management responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product, design, and development teams to execute the roadmap and deliver exceptional user experiences

  • Own feature development end-to-end—from ideation, product planning, and design to development, testing, deployment, and analysis

  • Take part in the group’s leadership forums and drive employee growth and development

  • Work with our stack: React.js, Redux, Node.js, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, AWS, Kafka, Elastic Search, Redis, MySQL, operating in both microservices and micro frontend environments enabling rapid deployment cycles

 

Requirements

 
  • Proven experience managing a team and leading projects hands-on, from inception to delivery

  • Demonstrated expertise in building web applications from scratch in a production environment

  • Passion for both server-side and client-side development

  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills; empathetic and thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • Passion for understanding user needs and requirements

  • Data-driven mindset with experience analyzing performance and usability data

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred, but exceptional talent is valued above all
