Engineering Tech Lead - Agentic Systems, CCO

Customer Tech & AIFullTimetelavivTel-Aviv, IL

monday.com is the AI work platform powering the most ambitious teams. 250,000+ customers across departments use us to bring people, workflows, and AI agents together on one flexible platform where AI doesn't just assist, it executes. We move fast, build things that matter, and foster an ownership-driven culture where you're empowered to shape how organizations work and outpace their competition.

We are the Tech & AI group within Monday's Customer organization, building the "Agentic OS" — a unified agent architecture that delivers enterprise-level service through AI. Our agents handle customer support, success, and professional services at scale — and the quality of what we ship depends on the quality of how we build.

As our Engineering Tech Lead – Agentic Systems, you will set the technical bar for the entire group. This is a cross-team IC role with no direct reports and outsized influence — you own the standards, the architecture decisions, and the engineering culture that makes everything else possible. You will be the person engineers across the group turn to when they need to know how to build something right.

About the role

  • Define and maintain the group's technical standards — code quality, testing practices, system design principles, and agentic architecture patterns

  • Lead architecture decisions across our agent stack: orchestration, context and memory layers, MCP tool infrastructure, and data pipelines

  • Review and challenge designs across teams — not as a gatekeeper, but as the person who makes designs better

  • Identify technical debt and systemic risks before they become production problems, and drive the work to address them

  • Mentor and develop engineers across the group — pairing, design reviews, structured feedback — with the goal of raising the ceiling for everyone

  • Serve as the technical authority in cross-functional discussions with Product, Data, and external partners (BigBrain, ADA, platform teams)

  • Contribute hands-on to the highest-complexity parts of the system when it matters

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 in a senior or staff-level IC role working across teams

  • Deep expertise in backend systems: distributed architecture, data pipelines, API design, and production reliability at scale

  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs and agentic frameworks — LangGraph, LangChain, or equivalent — and a clear point of view on what good looks like

  • Proven ability to define and enforce technical standards without direct authority — through influence, quality of thinking, and earned credibility

  • Strong instincts on when to build vs. buy, when to abstract vs. move fast, and how to make those tradeoffs explicit

  • A track record of mentoring engineers and making teams around you measurably better

  • Clear, direct communicator — able to explain complex architectural decisions to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
