We strive to create a positive impact on the environment, including in the planning and execution for Elevate '24. Explore this page and the various ways we work to make a difference.
2024 Main Efforts
Areas we track:
Energy: We monitor energy usage from the venue’s grid power and temporary power, such as generators.
Production build: Materials used in building event sets and fabricated elements are thoughtfully chosen with sustainability in mind, not just aesthetics!
Graphics: Material used for print, such as signage, backdrops, decals, and banners, are also carefully chosen.
Waste: From food & beverage leftovers to other types of waste, such as landfill, recycling, and composting, we monitor everything coming in and out of Elevate.
Production transport: All vendor trucking and overseas shipping (if applicable) is monitored
Staff travel & accommodations: Travel and accommodation plans for all involved in making Elevate happen are tracked.
Carbon offsetting:
We are investing in verified carbon offset projects.
Carbon credits are purchased to neutralize emissions.
We are supporting renewable energy, reforestation, and energy efficiency projects.
Our zero-waste solutions:
We provide compostable serviceware and food scraps.
Menus are designed with seasonal ingredients from local farms.
Branding and graphics are made from recycled materials and will be recycled post-Elevate.
Custom built elements will be donated and waste-sorted post-Elevate.
Elevate does not include single-use-plastics.
Tree-planting:
We are partnering with Trees for the Future on a reforestation project in Sub-Saharan Africa.
We’re planting a diverse mix of trees to rehabilitate degraded land.
This increases biodiversity, enhances food security, boosts income, and empowers farmers, especially women.
This also results in significant CO2 sequestration and contributes to global carbon capture efforts.
Trees will be planted on behalf of Elevate registrations through online and in-person events
We are on track to replant approximately 500,000 trees with Elevate and Earth Day events.
We believe in leaving a place better than we found it.
